AVOCADO: GUACAMOLE SAUCE.
Among the many recipes based on avocado , the most famous is certainly guacamole sauce : it is a condiment of Mexican origin, which initially consisted only of avocado puree, salt and lime, but over time the recipe has become a little more elaborate, taking on the current characteristics. There are various combinations with guacamole: from the famous Mexican tortillas to the simple toast or sandwich. In this article we will provide you with a very simple recipe for making a good guacamole and we will give you some tips for creating excellent combinations.
AVOCADO GUACAMOLE: THE RECIPE.
Guacamole is a sauce that can be prepared quite quickly, but you have to be careful to measure the ingredients well. Here's how to prepare it:
Ingredients
1 ripe avocado
1 copper tomato
1 green chili pepper
10 g lime juice
20 g of extra virgin olive oil
10 g of shallot
salt and pepper
Preparation
Choose a fairly ripe avocado , wash, dry, cut in half and remove the stone. Extract the pulp with a spoon and put it in a bowl. Squeeze half a lime and pour the juice over the pulp. Mash the pulp, add salt and pepper and set aside. Clean and chop the shallot; wash, dry and cut the tomato. Trim the chili pepper and remove the seeds; then cut into small cubes. Pour the shallot and tomato over the pulp, then add the chili pepper and olive oil. Mix and season with salt and pepper.
GUACAMOLE: COMBINATIONS AND HOW TO USE IT.
As we have said, guacamole can accompany different dishes: first of all Mexican dishes, such as tortillas, tacos and tostadas, but it is also perfect in a toast or on toasted bread. In addition, you can combine guacamole sauce with grilled or breaded meat, or fish.
GUACAMOLE: HOW MANY CALORIES DOES IT HAVE?
Avocado, we know, is a caloric fruit : 160 calories per 100 grams. However, remember, it has countless beneficial properties, it is rich in Omega 3 and vitamins A and E, therefore it fights cardiovascular diseases and has an antioxidant power. As for guacamole sauce, however, it has 168 calories per 100 grams: very few if we consider the 690 calories present in 100 grams of mayonnaise.
